* In Torso Rigging Toolkits, we discuss the various types of controls that are needed to create the body parts, and go into depth on what they each are.  This is a standard technique that I like to use when rigging, it allows me to explore ideas and practice before committing to a final rig.

    Hey there Jason,

From what I have read of your introductory pdfs, I really enjoy the way you explain the why’s of your process, as well as the way you are solving problems as a result. Fantastic design methodology.
I am personally a character designer/ modeller and would absolutely love to have the skills required to do an in depth rig, that is able to fulfill any animating needs I can have for it.

I have done some rigging in the past but would really love to ground it in firm foundations before taking it further.
By the looks of it, the animating friendly rigging pack seems the way to go and I was wondering how much it would cost for the whole pack of AFR, as well as ask if you would recommend the older ones to look at first.

Thankyou very much for your reply, and I look forward to hearing back from you.
    🙂

      Hi Brendan!

thanks so much, I’m glad the approach seems like a direction you’d enjoy! If you purchase the whole bundle at once, you get all 8 for the price of 7. that comes to about $104 bucks.

Since the older ones are “pay what you want”, you can pick them up for whatever you feel like you’d want to pay, and then get the AFR ones if you like the style. 🙂

      Hope you enjoy them! 🙂

    Hi Jason,

I graduated from Animation Mentor in 2010 and I’ve been teaching myself modeling from any resource that I can find on the web. I’ve learned a lot and I’m making definite progress. I’m ready to take my model into rigging but I’ve found that with all the different approaches to rigging out there, I’m slowing winding up in a state of confusion.

I remember your video lectures from AM and your addition to the “Thank You” video at the graduation. They were funny and entertaining. I completely forgot you had these rigging tutorials available. So with that, all I can say is “shut up and take my money”.

    Cheers,

    Hi Jason,

I’ve left a question in the community section about advanced twist controls, but so far nobody has answered. If you have time to take a look that would be great. I’ve hit a wall and I don’t know how to proceed. Feel free to delete this comment afterwards. Thanks.

Just in case anyone comes here looking for a solution to the $tmp issue you might encounter when using the js_createSkelGeo script: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/animatorfriendlyrigging/r-GZlfLpf2U/HYXi7bth6H0J
